Cedar Fire Monument BannerCedar Fire Historic Monument, located next to the Lakeside Fire District headquarters, honors those first responders, victims, and survivors of San Diego’s largest and most deadly fire. The park is described as a living memorial where people can reflect, take stock, and never forget.

The Lakeside Fire District donated the land and the community came together and worked for more than a year to fund, plan and build this lasting remembrance.

The walkway includes the names and dates of past wildfires with space for future fires that hopefully will never come. Artists and survivors created four murals made from the remnants of the destruction including pieces of pottery or glass that were the sole remnants of some homes.
