Grossmont Healthcare District donates 25000 to help provide County fire stations with defribrillators

San Diego Regional Fire Foundation  received a $25,000 grant from the Grossmont Healthcare District to assist in the purchase of cardiac monitors and electronic defibrillators (AEDs) for Alpine and other East San Diego County fire departments. The new defibrillators will be used to replace AEDs that are no longer fully functional due to age or depricated technology.

“Defibrillators in the hands of the first responders can greatly improve a patient’s chance for survival,” said Robert “Bob” Ayres, 2016 Grossmont Healthcare District (GHD) board president. “We are grateful for the opportunity to serve in our role of monitoring and addressing unmet healthcare needs of the community to the greatest extent possible.” GHD is a public agency that supports various health-related community programs and services in San Diego’s East County region.
